Arlette's Birthday Quilt
Arlette's Birthday Quilt
This was a quilt I completed from sampler blocks in a block of the month class that I attended. This was finished up for a friend for her 40th birthday. She is the age of my own daughters and refers to me as "TOM" (The Other Mom). I have known her and her family since she was in about the 3rd grade. Even through we don't even live in the same state, and haven't for LOTS of years, we are still great friends and are just as we would be if we were still neighbors. You don't have many friends like that in a lifetime!!

This quilt went together pretty quick. It was a fun one to make. The quilting has baseballs, bats, mitts and baseball caps on it. Finished size 55" x 66". I quilted it on my Nolting Pro 24. The project was finished in Feb 2014.

Bird House Swap A Block
Bird House Swap A Block
BirdHouse quilt ---I taught this quilt class as a "Swap-A-Block" in a local quilt shop. It was lots of fun. Nine people participated, we each made 9 blocks. Our nine blocks were all the same. We met for a full day class and exchanged blocks. Lunch was included with the class. Many of my quilts I have re-designed to make large enough to fit a king size bed. That was the case with this one as well. I added the birdhouses around the edge, along with the piano key border and plain outside border to increase the size. This class was so well received that I taught it more than one time. A word of caution though, after a bad experience I had taking a similiar class elsewhere, the students for these quilts were hand picked. Not everyone makes square blocks using good grade fabrics!! I use my "bad exerience" blocks as show and tell as what "not to do" when I teach a class like this one.

Baby Boy Brown 1st Quilt
Baby Boy Brown 1st Quilt
We heard we were going to be GREAT GRANDPARENTS, so this quilt happened!! I didn't know if it was going to be a boy or a girl, so this was pretty generic. It has a fuzzy minkie back and was quilted on my Nolting 24" Pro computerized machine. How fun this was to make!! The baby is due around the 2nd of July 2013.

Cabin By The Lake Quilt
Cabin By The Lake Quilt
Cabin By The Lake. This was a Marti Michell pattern, which I have altered to make larger. This quilt was made of flannel. It is the only flannel quilt that I have made. I love piecing, so this was a really fun project for me. This project was completed in 2005 and is 98" long and 104" wide.

Carolyn's Gift Xmas 2008
This is a quilt that I made for a really good friend (Carolyn) for Christmas 2008. Carolyn is not a quilter, but has to listen to me jabber about quilting all of the time. I thought I should surprise her with one of my creations!! This project was completed in 2008 and is 65" square.

Charm Square Purple Quilt
Charm Square Purple Quilt
This quilt was done as a "Quilt-Along" that I found on a blog. We did it as a group project in my ASG Group. It is made from charm square packs, with seperate purchased fabrics only for the background and the border. It was really fun and I will be making it again in a different colorway. The quilt size is about 70" x 84" and was quilted on my Nolting 24" Pro computerized machine. Project completed in 2011.

Emily Christmas Quilt
Emily Christmas Quilt
This is a quilt that I made for my granddaughter, Emily, for Christmas in 2011. It was quilted on my computerized Nolting 24 Pro. All of my other granddaughters already had a quilt, but Emily had been traveling around the world. She is back home now, so I thought she should have a quilt as well.

Erin & Casey Wedding Quilt
Erin & Casey Wedding Quilt
My oldest Granddaughter married her sweetheart, Casey on May 23, 2008. I made this quilt for their wedding. Erin had told me Casey liked stars and blues, so here it is!! Part of the quilting on this was done on my 18" Nolting, and I finished it up (decided it needed more quilting) after I got my 24" Nolting Pro. This project is 88" x 92".

Green Scrappy Quilt
Green Scrappy Quilt
Green (Yellow Brick Road) This is a scrapy quilt made from the pattern "Yellow Brick Road". I taught applique classes for years and have LOTS of fabrics left over from doing so. I decided that I should use some of the greens. I made the quilt, but I didn't even dent the boxes of green fabrics. This one I quilted on my Nolting 24" Pro that is now computerized. It has a cute pantograph pattern with cabins, bears and trees throughout the center. The pantograph is by Dave Hudson. There is a nice leafy design around the outside border. This projecrt was completed in Dec 2008 and is 99" Square.

Halloween X-Block Quilt
Halloween X-Block Quilt
This was a fun project started in a Quilt Guild Retreat in 2010.....and also finished in 2010. It didn't make it in time for the holiday, but will certainly make it for next year! The blocks were made with an X-Block ruler and was quite a fun project. I was a new member of this guild and had a great time so I will definitely be active with this group. It was quilted on my Computerized Nolting 24" Pro Machine.

Sampler for Jean
Sampler for Jean
Twelve of the blocks in this quilt were a block of the month at a local quilt store. I have made additional blocks and turned it into a regular size quilt for a very dear friend. This is someone that I lived next door to about 35 years ago!! Even though we have lived in different states for most of the years since, we have stayed in contact and it still feels like she could come through the door at any time. I would love for her to do that!! You don't have many friends that are that close in a lifetime!! I sent this quilt to her "out of the blue", just because we are great friends1! Also in this album you will find "Arlette's Quilt". Arlette is this lady's daughter. We have obviously been great friends for a very long time.

Log Cabin Christmas
Log Cabin Christmas
I started this project MANY years ago. All of the applique was complete, leaving only the borders and quilting to do. I had never felt qualified to quilt it, so it kept on WAITING. Finally, 2009, this quilt is hanging on my wall. The quilting doesn't show up very well in the photo, but in all of the white areas there is 1/2" crosshatching. It really shows off the applique well. YEAH, a completed project!! It was quilted on my Nolting 24" which my hubby computerized for me. All of the crosshatching, however, was done with rulers. The quilt is about 64" square.

Family Memory Quilt
Family Memory Quilt
This quilt has my mother-in-law and father-in-law in the center picture when they got married. Surrounding them are their 8 children (my husband being the oldest of the kids). There is lots of lace and charms to embellish it. I made this quilt for my MIL for Mother's Day. It has to be the nicest gift I ever gave her. She has passed away now, but I think it was one of her most prized possessions. After I had given it to her, I borrowed it back to enter in the fair. I'm not sure if it was my MIL or FIL that was most possessive of it. I did get a blue ribbon which I pinned on it, and left it until they had both passed away. The colors had faded. I had made this and also taught it as a class when photos on fabrics was a really new thing. I'm sure with the products that are available in today's market, it would look a lot better after hanging for a few years.

Monster Quilt
Monster Quilt
When I found out the baby was going to be a boy, and my granddaughter was decorating the room with monsters, I went shopping for embroidery designs of monsters. This is what I found!! I did the embroidery on my Pfaff Creative Sensation machine and quilted it on my Nolting 24" Pro Machine. This one was done free motion and ruler work, with the borders being done on the longarm machine and the computer. The baby BOY is due about July 2, 2013. Congratulations Erin & Casey!!

The Many Moods of Mrs Claus
The Many Moods of Mrs Claus
The Many Moods of Mrs. Claus was a class that I taught as a block of the month in a local quilt store. There were over 500 applique pieces in this quilt. Once again, I have made it larger by adding borders (particularly the ribbon border) to make it fit a king size bed.

Childs Quilt
Childs Quilt
This was just a fun little quilt I made because I was in the mood. It is bright and cheery and will make some little child happy. I have no plan for it at this time. It was fun to piece and fun to quilt with a heart design on my Nolting 24" Pro Computerized Machine. This project was started and completed in the summer of 2012.

I made this quilt for my granddaughter, Allison and new husband Michael. The wedding was Oct 23, 2009. Allison used to love greens, so I hoped she still did! The quilt is queen size, but pictured on a king size bed. This was quilted on my Nolting 24" Pro, computerized.

Tool Quilt
Tool Quilt
This was completed in May 2016. I made this quilt for my little great grandson, Liam. He loves to come to our house and go to the shop with his "papa". He stands on a stool and hammers! So, I thought this was a very fitting quilt for this little guy. I made a matching pillowcase with the "hammer guy" appliqued on it as well. Notice his shirt.....this was his 3rd birthday party, where it was announced that there was another baby on the way!! YEAH!!

LeMoyne Star
LeMoyne Star
Completed May 2016. This is a LeMoyne Star quilt I made for my daughter, Denise, and her hubby, Shane for their birthdays in the summer of 2016. The fabric had been "aging" for a few years. Denise picked it out when we were on a girls trips a few years ago. This quilt is about 100" x 100". You can't really see the brown fabric design, but it is moons and stars. I quilted the quilt with moons and stars all over. They seemed pretty excited with it. Denise is not a quilter, but couldn't tell me how much she loved it enough times!! I also made matching pillowcases for them.
